Person Before Process or Product

In art-making, the Process and the Product are not the Person.

And the component that matters the most here is the Person.

And specifically, how the Person feels.

"I need to make up for lost time" doesn't feel awesome for the Person thinking and believing it.

The Product is what the Person creates.

The Process is what the Person experiences as they create the Product.

And the Person matters THE MOST. Period.

The reason to engage in a Process is for the Person to experience the feelings created during that Process.

The reason to create a Product is for the Person to experience the feelings created during the Process of creating the Product.

The Person matters most. Specifically Who the Person Gets to Be and What the Person Gets to Feel.

This is the order of importance:

1. Person.

2. Process.

3. Product.

When you don't make your Products or the Process an edict or a judgment about Who You Are as a Person, then it makes art-making more fun.

Then artists have more joy, exhilaration, enthusiasm, improvisation, learning, experiments, opportunities for growth, etc.

So, whatever Process you are engaged with and whatever Products you create or want to create, do not involve your worth, value, stature, or character as a Person in the equation.

Separate the Process and the Product from Who You Are as a Person.

Now...

What Product do you want to create, and how do you want to engage in the Process of creating it?

What do you want to feel?

How do you want to flow your Life Energy?

The Journey matters, but only BECAUSE the Person who is taking the Journey matters MOST.
